Broaden Communications Interaction with Wikis

Kay L. Colley, Ph.D.
In the ever-expanding world of social media, it's hard to determine which ones to use. Beyond looking up trivia on Wikipedia, how many people utilize wikis as part of their communications model? What exactly is a wiki? How is a wiki created? You can learn all about using wikis - and avoiding the pitfalls - when Kay L. Colley, Ph.D. , talks to the Fort Worth Chapter of IABC on Monday, Nov. 16.
Colley is an assistant professor in the department of mass communication at Texas Wesleyan University, where she teaches journalism and public relations courses there. Her more than 14 years in communication education includes full-time faculty appointments at the University of Texas at Arlington in public relations, the University of North Texas in journalism and Blinn College in journalism. She has advised student newspapers at UNT and Blinn. Her professional background includes stints in public relations, magazines, daily and weekly newspapers. She holds a bachelor's degree in journalism, a master's of international journalism and a doctorate in higher education.
